We’re excited to welcome Kelly Suter to Markve, Zweifel & Heinrich as our newest Senior Associate Attorney! With nearly a decade of legal experience, Kelly brings deep family law expertise and a genuine passion for helping clients navigate difficult situations to our Twin Cities Team.

We sat down with Kelly to learn more about her background, her approach to family law cases, and what she brings to our clients.

How long have you been practicing law, and what brought you to Markve, Zweifel & Heinrich?

I’ve been in private practice for almost five years, focusing exclusively on family law. Before that, I spent nearly five years as a judicial law clerk. I joined Markve, Zweifel & Heinrich because I wanted to expand my practice into new areas of the law and continue growing as an attorney.

What type of family law case do you find especially rewarding to work on?

I love working on cases where I can truly help people, especially when they’re going through a difficult situation. It’s incredibly rewarding to be someone they can turn to with questions, lean on for guidance, and trust to help them through the process.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A mix of checking emails, doing research, and a lot of writing, which I genuinely enjoy!

How would you describe your approach to working with family law clients?

I aim to move matters forward in the way that’s least contentious and most collaborative. Legal issues are already stressful enough, so my job is to find solutions that make sense and minimize conflict for everyone involved, whenever possible.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Spending time with family and friends, and trying new restaurants around the Twin Cities.
