Kevin Beach: MSBA Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist

At Markve, Zweifel & Heinrich, we like to celebrate our team’s wins — especially the ones that take years to earn. This month, we’re proud to announce that attorney Kevin Beach has been certified as a Real Property Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA).

This isn’t a title Kevin can simply claim. It’s one he earned.

What It Means to Be an MSBA Certified Real Property Law Specialist

The Minnesota State Bar Association has certified attorneys as Real Property Law Specialists since 1989, through a program independently accredited by the Minnesota State Board of Legal Certification. To become certified, an attorney must clear a high bar, including:

  • A written examination covering the substantive and procedural law of real property
  • Documented, substantial experience actively practicing in the field
  • Peer review, with references from judges and other attorneys who can speak to the applicant’s skill and integrity
  • At least 30 hours of continuing legal education in real property law over the preceding three years
  • Being admitted to practice and in good standing in Minnesota

Certification isn’t one-and-done, either. Kevin’s certification runs for a six-year term, and he’ll complete a yearly audit to keep the designation.

Why That Matters

Of the roughly 25,460 active attorneys in Minnesota, only around 323 hold this Real Property specialty certification — a small fraction of the state’s practicing lawyers. It’s one of just four practice areas the MSBA certifies specialists in (alongside Civil Trial Law, Criminal Law, and Labor and Employment Law), and it exists specifically so the public has a reliable way to identify attorneys with proven, tested expertise.

For clients, that translates into a straightforward benefit: when you work with Kevin on a real estate matter, you’re working with someone whose knowledge of Minnesota real property law has been independently tested and vetted, not just claimed on a website.

Meet Kevin Beach

Kevin joined Markve, Zweifel & Heinrich in 2023, bringing a background that includes business law, judicial clerkships, intellectual property, litigation, fraud investigations, and insurance defense — experience that included arguing before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. A cum laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Kevin today focuses his practice on real estate, business law, estate planning.

Kevin also speaks Spanish fluently, having spent time living in Guatemala, an experience that gives him the privilege of working closely with Spanish-speaking homeowners, business owners, and families navigating estate planning.

Kevin lives in Maple Grove with his wife, son, and two dogs, and spends his free time exploring restaurants and breweries around the Twin Cities with his family.

Congratulations, Kevin!

This certification reflects years of hard work, and it’s a distinction that directly benefits the clients Kevin serves. If you have a real estate transaction, title issue, or property dispute on the horizon, Kevin’s specialized certification means you’re in exceptionally capable hands.
